Designed by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, the library is located in the riverside area of Viana do Castelo.
A reference work for Telhabel due to its size, technical complexity and architectural beauty.
Its volumetry is made up of a raised main block of 45x45 meters, including a 20 square meters central void and an "L" shaped ground floor. The raised building is a mixed steel and exposed white concrete structure, with only two "L" shaped terrain supports, while the floor at ground level is a monolithic exposed white concrete structure.
