As part of its Social Responsibility policy, Telhabel Portugal and Telhabel Angola have joined forces in a major social project to build and equip a boarding school in the municipality of Bibala, Namibe province, in Angola, using their own funds and donations from partner companies.
The Madre Isabel boarding school, which was donated to the Church of Namibe, has a capacity for 36 children and was inaugurated this week by the Governor of the province, Dr Archer Mangueira.
In his inaugural speech, the Provincial Governor highlighted the Namibe Provincial Government's partnerships with the Catholic Church and the Telhabel company, which have made it possible to realise social projects under the motto, "Doing More and Better for the Lives of Real People", adding that "Telhabel doesn't just do construction work in the strict sense, which is the company's object of action, but in the broadest sense, it does real work". The day was one of celebration, pride and great emotion among those present.
